Need a good dwarf red Japanese maple- any suggestions?

I'm looking for a Japanese maple to plant in front of my aunt's porch. She has a baby blue old little colonial house and there is a definite need for a small tree next to their porch railings for a tree to hide a bit of the front. I thought a Japanese maple would be perfect but I'm a bit overwhelmed by the selections out there.

We need one that get's about 6-8 tall but width I would put at 3ish to 4 max. It would have it's own little corner and would be allowed to spill out a bit.

I'm not very fond of the Cousin It Orangeola weepy types with very dense foliage, I find them a bit trite and overused. I prefer the palmate leaf types. Anything that stays that small but also airy, I guess more vase shaped? Color we're looking for a good red that will echo the rich ruby-red door they have to their house.

If I can't find a good one I'd probably do a ninebark, but I thought the Japanese maple would be closer to the red of the door if I found a good variety.

Thanks!

Max
