OMG!!! I might just have to order those dahlias. As for what I have planted in them, I overheard this conversation this morning when I was checking the babies:

"Rosemary, how come you get to grow up in a vodka bottle and we spinach and lettuce are growing up in Diet Coke?"

"Yeah, chime in the garlic chives. What's up with that? We're stuck in a V8."

"It's simple, girls," says Rosemary. "I have the same name as his GF. Once she gets a shot of me, she gets going real quick."

OH NO! I wonder what MY babies are talkin' about!? They're stuck in toilet paper rolls!

"I'm happy we're here, but this chick needs to spring for a box of Immodium, ok?"

OP mentions cutting bottles with scissors. I've a 99¢ box cutter that I find works much better than scissors. In fact the 99¢ box cutter seems to work marginally better than the more expensive, more familiar box cutters.
