Confessions of a new rose addict

My path to rose addiction was a roundabout one, I lived most of my life in a place with too much snow for roses (or much of anything, really) and I've always been a veggy gardener first and a flower gardener second. Four years ago I moved to the Ca wine country and for three years I focused entirely on installing my new vegetable garden and home orchard, nearly overwhelmed by the huge variety of edibles available to me. And then last year, with my tomato lust somewhat sated, the spring flush of roses was incredible. I saw them everywhere and suddenly I needed to get some of my own. It was too late for bare-roots so I got a few potted roses and started studying magazines and websites and planning my purchases for the next bare-root season.

Now here I am with two dozen roses putting on their second flush of growth and I have already started planning my next purchases, and I don't think I can wait until next year. I want them all! But I don't have room! Argh!
