Callicarpa americana - American Beautyberry and Myrica cerifera - Southern Wax Myrtle both grow like weeds on my property. I don't know if you still want either, but I am sure I can find a small plant or at least cuttings to send you.

I already have run out of space. But there is no way I would move. After all these years working by butt off in the garden to finially get it too look like this. The idea of starting over is just impossible. I could never do it all again. And I love everything that is here, I could never leave it. I love dahlias when I buy them already growing in pots. When I try to do them myself I make a mess of it. This year I do have some dahlias tubers and have finially learned how I should be growing dahlias. I have been doing it wrong so no wonder I had no great success. But today I thought why all the bother. I don't start them under lights and started now, they might flower by July. Buy the darn pots and I have flowers now and all summer until frost. I think thats what I will do from now on. The Clematis are just sooooo gorgeous. I can't even begin to describe the color of the light purple. Of course, the plants locally were almost twice the price of the mail order ones. Thanks for the prunning group tip, I haven't gotten a chance to look that up yet. I have another obelisk in my basement for years that I had never ever put together yet. Looks like I am going to be needing it.

Well, breakfast is definitely served by Major Wheeler all day all summer. This morning overcast, so walking outside saw a hummer feeding away at the Major Wheeler. I stood still about two feet away and he covered all the blossoms, got chased, came back, went over them all again, got chased again, etc etc. I love it when that other world breaks into mine for a few minutes. Also love the confirmation that they really do love MW.

Yay! So glad you finally saw one. We saw one at a party the other week on a feeder out on the deck. It was a gorgeous male and although he wasn't at our house I was thrilled nonetheless. My partner saw one in our yard on Monday night while he was under the arbor and I was out in the yard watering but of course I didn't see it. Still I'm sure it's just a matter of time. :) I saw a red shrimp plant at a local nursery (Justicia brandegeeana) and was really tempted to get one but passed since I already have so many plants this year but knowing me I'll probably go back and get one. Laugh.
