baby leaves on pin oak dead from frost...will it die?

Hello everyone :)

I have a pin oak that started to leaf out earlier than usual this year. We had a real warm spell early in the month which was unusual. Unfortunately, we also has a few days of frost a few weeks later and now all of the baby leaves that were emerging on my pin oak are brown and crispy. I see no new regrowth at this point (it has been about a week or so since the frost happened)...

I do see some ash trees in the neighbourhood that have suffered the same fate, but they weren't as far leafed out as my oak and I do see some green growth (maybe about 10% on the ash trees)...these buds probably weren't even opened yet when the frost hit.

My oak tree had all of its leaves emerging so all of them got hit :(

Will this tree die now? Do trees have reserve buds for times like this?

I am worried as it is our favourite tree :(

Any input would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Janine
