bleeding heart

I have a large bleeding heart in my front yard. It is approx. 3.5' wide and getting bigger every year. It is beautiful when in bloom but I never know what to do with it afterward. I let it be and it is fine until all the leaves start to yellow. It becomes an eyesore in my front landscaping. I would eventually like to move it when I make a new flower bed in the side yard but can I cut it back now? I don't want to damage it, it is really very beautiful, but I can't stand looking at those yellowing leaves and it is too big to camouflage with another plant. Does anyone else have a good solution for this? I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks!
