Mulched with grass clippings, grass sprouts everywhere

Is this normal? I finally decided mulching is the way to go so I've been spreading grass clippings around my planted veggies. Now I've got little bits of grass sprouting everywhere in the soil. Also, I got some horse manure from a field last year and after composting it and using the compost on my raised beds, I have a zillion little field weeds ALSO sprouting everywhere.

I never had this problem before I introduced these two lovely items into my garden beds -- pulling weeds was rare!

My question: Is this now my new life? Will I be pulling little sprouted grass and field weeds for all eternity, or will they settle down and leave me alone eventually?

Did I do the wrong thing? (I'm beginning to think so!)
