One that comes to mind is Belle Isis.

I believe that what you are looking for are the myrrh scented roses. Many of the the David Austin roses have this scent, but, unfortunately, most of them are not very BS resistant.

I also planted the Ayshire rose Ayshire Splendens which is supposed to be myrrh scented. Mine has yet to bloom in 4 years though! I've got hope.

Constance Spry, should be exactly what you need. Very strong myrrh fragrance and good resistance. Huge size blooms.

Either 'Belle Isis' or 'Constance Spry' will do nicely, I agree. I also find 'Distant Drums' to be very hardy and 90% disease free in my climate, and possesses that same delicious scent. YMMV, as always.

Rogue Valley Roses has a Paul Barden yellow tea rose named Licorice Tea, which is unfortunately out of stock at the moment. I would imagine it would smell more of licorice than any other rose, since it's part of the name. It looks very pretty in their picture.

The myrrh fragrance for which many of the David Austin roses are most famous, has been described as an anise scent. Scepter'd Isle is one of his most strongly scented myrrh roses. I just got this one this season so I am hoping for good disease resistance which it is reputed to have. I also don't spray.

Just for more fun facts on licorice scent, some agastaches have licorice scented leaves and indeed are called anise hyssop. Also the flowers of Fothergilla smell wonderfully of licorice and honey. I have one variety called 'Red Licorice' that smells just like its name.

I find 'Julia Child' to be licorice scented and completely BS free. It is floriferous also.

Scepter d' Isle does well for me no spray, but isn't as myrrh scented to me as Mary Magdalene. Mary Magdalene, to my nose, is the most myrrh scented rose I've ever smelled. BS resistance isn't bad, either... at least not so far and I planted her in Feb 08.

My favorite is Fair Bianca. This is an outstanding prolific rose with exquisite blooms and heavy myrrh fragrance. All of mine are extremely healthy with no BS at all, without any spraying.

Another myrhh scented Austin with pretty good resistance is St. Cecilia. It's also a vigorous, shrubby, sturdy, (not sprawly) plant and has some of the best rebloom of my Austins. It can get more bs at the end of the summer. Blooms are beautifully rounded also.

Another non-Austin rose with this scent and that I'm fond of is 'Belle Amour', a thorny lax once-blooming old rose of uncertain affiliation. It has semi-double blooms, pink that leans toward peach--also unusual in a rose of its general type--and gives me a lot of pleasure. I had it in Olympia, Washington in part shade and it did fine there, as it does also here in Italy.
