BUT you have to have some summer heat for Crepuscule to excell. She's GREAT at the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden, but refuses to grow in my Z24 cool, foggy climate.

Lady Hillingon makes a graceful, arching bush of medium size, and is a good bloomer, with good disease resistance here.

Jeri Jennings is an arching shrub that puts well-formed sprays all along the laterals that arch out. She would arch outward from your low wall. Perhaps not cascade down, but arch enough to look good. She is free of mildew and rust for us. The blooms open sequentially, and fade slowly, so that a spray has many different shades of yellow, all at once.

We have a hot humid climate in Atlanta. I have a habit of thinking of CA as hot, but it is a huge state. I offer people cuttings all the time and so far no one has taken me up on it as they look in fear at her large mounding shape. One nice thing, though ... she is remarkably free from disease and laughed as my yard guy went after her with a weed whacker last year (could have killed him). She gets a few yellow leaves but most of the plant stays intact.

Thanks Jeri for your post. I was feeling responsible for my Crepuscle refusing to grow. Not a rose for us fog sisters I guess. Will put Kathleen in it's place.

"E. Veyrat Hermanos" is a lovely climbing rose, that bears shapely medium size roses of several wonderful hues, honey, golden, apricot, with slight red shading near the edges of the petals.
To my nose it has a stronger scent than many of its type, a fragrance I would call it moderate in strength and pleasing with several scent notes as well.
As a climber it can grow to be 15-20 feet tall, and such roses are not usually grown on low walls, then again my neighbor grows several 'Lady Banks' on a 4 foot tall fence.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'll try the Crepuscule against a south facing wall which might be warmer than the rest of the garden. Does anyone know how Bon Silene grows?
