Okay. I put in her name in the top search box, but I got every trade and other message out there for her on GW. So maybe she doesn't have a rate and review yet. I just wish they had it like the old forum where the rate & review itself had a search box. I put other people's names in there, along with "rate & review," and I still got all kinds of other posts, messages, etc. Thanks for your help, though. I figured I was doing something wrong. I actually have a link on my Ideabook for my rate & review page. Makes it easier for people to find me. Just click and you're there to review me. :)

What am I missing? First you must go to the Rate and Review Forum You can find it by going to the top of any page here, and hovering your cursor over Forums at the bottom of the green banner. There will be a drop down box. Choose Garden Forums...then scroll to the bottom of the page where all forums are in alphabetical order. After you once get there, you follow the instructions for the Forum...they are posted at the top of the forum. Go to the search box found just below the list of threads, and put in the exact member name. If a review thread has been started, it will bring it up. You can then see who has said what for that member...much like the Feedback on an ebay member. You can then make a decision as to whether or not you want to trade with the member. If there is no review thread, the member is either quite new, has not done much trading in a while (forum was started in Nov 2006), or they have had the misfortune to have traded with folks who either do not know about the Rate and Review Forum, or those who do not believe in posting to it, or members who just plain forgot. If you are left wondering about the member, you can feel free to email me, or any others who are quite active here...maybe agirlsgirl, or medontdo. Once your trade is complete, then you do the search thing there and post to an existing review thread for the member, and if there is not one started, you are to start it, being sure to list the member name exactly as it is spelled in the Subject of Posting line. You can then leave a review, stating if it was a plant or seed trade, and just how it went. Whew...quite loquacious, wasn't I? Sue...resident busy body

Hi Lionheart: Thanks for your suggestion. I'll do my best. The biggest challenge is that none of the online survey tools were designed for so many potential choices (there are thousands of known tomato varieties). As a result, I can't just report the data using the survey providers online reports. I need to export it into Excel, manually adjust the data to align it into a single column, and then export it to a data base program where it can then be sorted by variety. I'll also need to make some manual adjustments as folks will rate a tomato and call it "Green Zebra" and others will rate the same tomato but call it "Zebra Green". I'll need to do this each time I update the data to include new respondents. It's going to be a pain in the neck and that's why I'm only promising periodic updates and not instantaneous reporting. Once we get to 100 completed surveys, I'll do the first report. On day one we had 17 completed and some folks that looked but did not complete it. Please encourage folks to take a few minutes to take the survey as I think this will really be a valuable resource. -Mark

I agree that this site is invaluable, but Consumer Reports is also an excellent resource (though have found some here disagree). Store websites only offer reviews from customers who have purchased items, but I find them (ajmadison & amazon in particular) valuable as well. CR currently has a Kitchen planning and buying guide on newstands that I have found very useful. Sounds like we have a similar budget, here are some things I found that you may be interested in: Sears is having a buy 3 appliances get 20% off sale until next weekend (though perhaps proces get better during Memorial Day sales?). You also get 5% off if you have/open a Sears card account. They will also match any local competitor price (we were looking at a range they had for 1300 and they honored Best Buy website price of 1000!). Kenmore 71013 is a nice french door fridge on sale for $1937, Samsung RF267AE well rated by CR and on sale at Sears $1979. We just got the highest rated (& well reviewed at multiple websites) Whirlpool GOLD GX5FHTXV fridge for $1360 - water inside and ice in freezer, rather than in the door, which I prefer. We have been very happy with a Kenmore dishwasher (#1389 currenly on sale for $586 and CR best buy rating). I do not work for Sears (though am sounding like it LOL!), just have been a happy customer!
