Just wondering I have a broadmore with this and was wondering if anyone knows how It works? The other day I was cutting the neighbors lawn and the right tire was spinning and

*Simplicitys don't switch power from one wheel to the other wheel like most locking differentials do.
Instead power is applied to both rear wheels all of the time.

First, Simplicity does not offer the differential lock on the Broadmore. Only the Conquest and up.

Second, the traction control system, which the Broadmore has, delivers the power to both rear wheels when it detects a spin. It does not transfer power from one to the other. The theory is that when one wheel will spin, you still get traction and forward motion with the other wheel. But it is not a locking differential.

I was looking at my 2006 Simplicity brochure and It shows traction control as standard on the Broadmore and Conquest.

It's nothing more than a couple spings and washers where the spider gears would be. It ties the two axles together loose enough that you can turn without tearing the turf, but tight enough that both wheels will pull if there is an extreme load. It works ok, but it's not a true diff lock or "limited slip".

I know the diff between a locking diff and limited slip. I guese my question was pertaining more to how this perticular system works. I think enginetech answered it best. The problem I had was that I was stuck with one tire spinning and no forward movement and I just thought it would have should have done a better job of it.

my Broadmoor replaced a Murray and I have found little difference between the Old Murray and the Broadmoor when it comes to wheel spin. I also expected it to be a little better.
