Climbing Old Blush...

Just wanting to know if anyone can give me any tips on this rose? I bought it today from a store that was going to toss it. I got it REALLY cheap!! It only has two small pencil thin stems coming from the crown. Those stems are about 2 to 2 1/2 feet long. They do have several leaf sets on both. There is one cane about a foot long that appears to have some new growth. There was a lot of deadwood on it, as well as several that had been drilled by cane borers. I pruned all of the deadwood off down as far as possible, only leaving green on the plant.

I'm hoping that it will not only survive, but I would like to see it start climbing the lattice work that I planted it by. Should I expect very much growth and will it bloom anymore this season?

I grow mostly hybrid teas, and have not grown any of the antiques. So any information that you can give will be very appreciated!

Thanks,

Shelly
