That might be a conditional question with conditional answers. If it is fresh, solvents like turpintine or mineral spirits can usually "cut it". You might even have luck with some of the citrus oil based cleaners. But, if this is some old stuff that has accumulated over time (years maybe), you may be "stuck" with it. It also depends on the material the fenders are made of. If the fenders are made of poly plastic which is colored (no paint, just colored plastic), and the resin has been there a while, you might be able to soften it by applying a bit of paint remover to the drops or streaks of resin. It would be a good idea to test the material for resistance to the paint remover by applying a dab to the underside surface of a wheel well (where it wouldn't show too much if attacked by the chemical) before applying it to the visible side of the component. If the material is "painted steel" or fiberglass, about the only thing I can think of to try as a softening agent is original formula "Go-jo" hand cleaner. I have even heard of people using margarine to soften unusual things like chewing gum, but I don't know how effective that would be on pine tar. I remember as a child, we would climb big pine trees. We would end up with "pine rosin" (as mom called it) all over our hands. The cleaner of choice back then was turpinetine and a whole bunch of rubbing with a wet cloth, all the while hearing a relentless scolding and threats of our imminent demise if we did it again. I heard it more than once, so I guess the death threats were hollow.

I usually use Ronsonol lighter fluid, you know, the old-time liquid lighter fluid in the yellow and blue plastic bottle. It seems to dissolve oil, grease and tar easily without damaging the paint. It contains naptha. Plus no cleaner residue left over, and it's relatively cheap.

Your LT155 has a plastic(ABS) hood and front cover. Though very durable, it cannot withstand some chemicals and solvents. It may actually melt the plastic and you do not want that to happen. Try wax on those parts to remove the pitch. On the painted surfaces try mineral spirits.

Like jdgt225innh I have used auto polish to successfully remove pitch from pine and fir trees from both the painted metal and plastic parts of my LT160 and GX335.

automotive bug and tar remover is pretty likely to do the job as well. Sometimes it needs to be re-applied a couple of times while it softens up old tar, but iit is formulated to be safe on plastic and painted car surfaces.

I'd definitely test a spot but I use carb cleaner.

Goo Gone is a good one for taking off anything sticky!

There are 2 types, the one that smells like citrus is less aggressive, but the industrial strength type that has a chemical stink to it is the one for serious removal!
