Just my humble opinion here and I have no experience with AeroGrow lights at all but petunias require quite a bit of strong light/sun in order to grow and bloom. I grow them outside in full sun. If the AeroGrow works well enough for the petunias to bloom it seems to me this might be too much light for the violets. I personally would be very careful. Hopefully someone has experience, good luck :)

Lily of the valley is my favourite flower and has an amazing scent which is probably why i guess it's scent is included in most perfumes that are made. Although there are two david austin roses that are a favourite of mine. Jude the obscure rose has a wonderful scent, it smells like lychees and sparkling lemonade all in one. I have 7 of these rose plants outside my living room window and the semll is amazing. It is so strong and when i smell them it is the closest i have ever come to actually wanting to eat a flower. I can smell these plants before i am even at my house they are so strong smelling and i always get complements about them. The second rose i love is Gertrude Jeckyll, it has a more trditional rose scent and smell like how most would imagine a rose to smell. It too along with jude the obscure is very strong smelling and both are a real delight to smell on a hot summers day.

I never tried Bright Melody back when I was collecting Buck roses, but I did grow (or tried to grow) Queen Bee. It's a shrub that is supposed to achieve a height of 4' - which is not a climber in my book. But up in zone 4, it was a puny runt of a rose for me and never made it beyond 2 ft. As to your Bright Melody looking just like Polonaise, well, quite frankly there are a lot of Buck roses that look pretty darn similar to each other. If you go to HMF and look at photos for both BM and Pol., I don't see a lot of difference one to another. I also successfully grew Distant Drums in my zone 4 garden and never saw coloration like that on my rose (nor have I ever seen photos like that labeled D.D.) I would be surprised if yours is the labeled correctly.

Sara I have both but have a hard time remembering which one is Pure Perfume. Lol. I planted several white this year and unless it has a tag I forget who's who. Summer Romance right now is growing to about 5 - 6 ft tall. I have them planted in several spots and the ones that gets the most sun stays around 4-5 ft. They've pumped out blooms all summer. Good disease resistance too but I do spray. I love the sprays of petal packed blooms. Gorgeous shade of pink too. Here's two pics of them budding up again Judy
