White rose groundcover---low and easy--suggestions?

I have about a 4-5 foot circular area around my newly planted kousa dogwood that I'd like to fill. I tried white nancy lamium, and it was just a bit too much sun. (It is Eastern exposure--gets morning sun.) I think it might be a nice spot for a groundcover rose, but since I know very little about roses....I'd love your insight before I purchase.

I'd like a double flower, and the carpet series are described as 'semi-double.' I love the look of the Meidiland white groundcover rose, but it gets a bit too tall (3 ft.) I'd like to keep it no higher than 2 foot (carpet series would work, but I'm not as excited about the flower.)

Can anyone suggest a pretty white double flower that is on the low side?

Lastly, in this area around my tree (a 4-5 ft. semi circle) would I plant 1 or 2? One on each side perhaps? Will I be able to train it to move around the circle, filling it in? Does it spread like lamium...growing shoots and setting down roots?

Lastly, disease resistant would be great

Thanks so much for your help
