Bubblewrap sources?

I've been looking for sources of good quality bubblewrap. I see that Charley's has a roll 4' X 120' for $120. That's just about the right quantity for me, but I was wondering if anyone else knows of a cheaper source for this stuff that will hold up as well. Thanks.

I got mine from a company on e-bay. I used it for two years and it wasn't degraded by the sun. It wasn't specifically made for greenhouse use, though like the stuff from Charley's is.
I used some adhesive spray from Joann's fabrics to attach it on the ceiling of my greenhouse. But I have glass and don't have to be careful about adhesives. I don't know if it would be bad for polycarb.
This is a link to e-bay for the company I got it from. It didn't cost much. I got the two foot wide because it fit in between the ribs on my glass greenhouse.

Check americasbestpoolsupply.com on the web or by phone 800-597-6657. I puechased the MAGNI-CLEAR 20X40 cover for $192. However, I just recently noticed the blue pool covers in Lowes. They only had one rectangular 20x36 cover and a round one and I believe the price was just over $100.
Most people prefer the single larger sheet of bubble wrap which is what the pool covers are. They are also slightly heavier.

grhouser: Try Farmtek.com, but also- Google. It's amazing what you will come up with. Just keep good notes on which seller offers the best materials at the best total delivered cost and go from there. BTW: A caution on cutting walled polycarb: Every time you cut it, tiny bits of materials get into the channels. It's virtually impossible to prevent it and even panels that will be used in their pre-cut state will attract bits of dust or insects. We found an air compressor the best means of making sure each channel in each panel was clear before we sealed, capped and installed it.

I've been price and quality shopping for bubble and while awaiting free samples from U-Line, experimented with ordinary bubble wrap and rubber tipped curtain tension rods, and the test results were conclusive. Tension rods will hold the bubble wrap in place between the polybars, even under the curved roof of my Cross Country, with no clips, tape, hole drilling or adhesieve messes. By running it between the polybars, I'll leave them free for whatever I want to mount on them. The 24" wide bubble fits between the polybars and behind the shelves, electrical, water and drip lines, so if any of the bubbles are damaged they can be easily and quickly replaced without disturbing the shelving I will also be hanging on the polybars. I also found that by taping shadecloth to the top of the bubble wrap, I can hang it at the same time as the bubble and it holds in place nicely. Yes, I know the aluminet is probably more effective if hung outside, but ease of use is a factor for me too. The samples arrived from U-Line, and their extra heavy is just as clear and even more insulating than Charlie's. Twice the bubble depth, the same nylon reinforcement, and a lot cheaper. 500 ft: $128.00, + shipping. So, before any of you order bubble in any longer lengths, do check out what's available from U-Line. Look for the Heavy Duty and if you don't believe my report on it, just ask them for a sample and they will send it to you, quickly, and for free.

Ah, I understand. Your GH is also a sort of conservatory, so appearance and the ability to see out of it is also a consideration. But if it's in full sun, you may need to add some shade plantings in your garden, perhaps some that would add an asthetic value along with shade. If you have the space to fit them, you might also benefit by a pair of outdoor (wet location rated) ceiling fans, to mount under the roof vents. The pair in my GH operate with very little electricity, are silent and do a great job of keeping the air moving. Not very expensive either; less than $100.00 each at the local home center. (Hunter brand) BTW: Operating 2 ceiling fans, each turning in an opposite direction really DOES create a circular pattern of air movement, front to back, top to bottom.

The problem with using mass as a heat sink is that it gives off its heat at the wrong time. Typically, most of the heat is gone by the early morning hours when the outside temp is the coldest. Plus it takes up a lot of valuable space. Bubble wrap is insulation, but it also blocks light. You might just give up on the north side of the greenhouse and insulate it with something non-transparent like styrofoam or fiberglass.

After looking at bubble insulation at several stores I bought from Charley's it is 1" diameter and quarter inch thick. This is more than twice as thick as the cheap stuff.
It is just the right width and with those plastic things that lock in the wall channel it is fast and easy to install. The air gap in the thin stuff will not insulate as well I believe that you get what you pay for the insulation from Charley's is much better than what you buy at the big box stores.
Lowe's had some thin stuff and if you figure the square foot in a roll of it and it actually cost more per square foot than what it cost from Charley's
