double up on poly panels?

I have two HFGH 6x8's put end to end to make 1 6x16 I am considering building a north wall and roof out of lumber and taking the 4 mil polycarbonate panels and doubling it on the south side to help insulate the south side. What would be the drawbacks? I mainly use the greenhouse for overwintering and starting plants early in the spring. By the first of June it is usually empty. Currently I have 1 inch foam board insulation on the north wall and roof. I have a solar pool cover on the entire south sides and roof and have bubble wrap on the south side. I am doing ok with an electric 1500 watt heater keeping night temps at 54 f.
