Bizarre canes on Hyb. Musk?
My own-root Moonlight has thrown out a new basal which is, to put it mildly, weird. Not only does it have huge, hooked HT-like thorns (most un-HM-like), but the leaves! They're fringed! As is all the other vegetative growth.
This does not look to me like RRD- growth patterns are otherwise normal. No masses of rubbery prickles, no 'witches' broom' or multiple branchings from single axils, and the color is reassuringly normal green (except the newest growth which is burgundy-bronze like it should be). And it's a cane from the root up, not starting high or outside.
But I can't help but fear I have some sort of dread disease. Unless my bush is sporting?
