Ever Ship or Been Shipped Cuttings?

My cousin has asked me make cuttings of several roses that grow at our grandparents' former home. All are OGRs, but I don't know the name or even the type of most of them. I plan to take the cuttings on a trip to Georgia next week & need to make some preparations.

The cuttings will be shipped by whatever method is fastest from the Atlanta area to Albuquerque. What do good cuttings look like (length, # of leaves)? How best to pack them---should I wrap the entire cutting in something like moist paper towels or should I try to keep the leaves dry? How best to keep the cut end from drying out?

I'm kind of apprehensive about this. If anyone has advice on this I'd sure appreciate it.

Thanks, Vee
