Mtgrs, I did remove the mulch plug when I cleaned and that does remind me of the switch up there associated with that but I replaced the plug when I was running the mower but it does bring up a good point as to whether the switch on the BBC is bad or the switch on the chute is bad. I assume one or the other could cause this condition? I disconnected the BBC switch and all was well, but would that affect the chute switch function? I'm camera happy so here are some pics I took this A:M. Its rainy here so not much to do otherwise. This one shows the switch off. And now the switch is on. The switch is disconnected I guess later this afternoon I'll check out the chute switch then. Is that what it is called? What are these switches called besides a p.i.t.a. Thanks everyone, Neal

1*I am at a loss as why so many people on this forum are so anti MTD. 2* My experience has been that dollar for dollar MTD is as good as JD. 3* It is unfair to compare a $1,800 MTD machine to a $4,500 JD machine as many of you do. 4*Compare a MTD to an equally priced fake JD. 5*MTD is the bottom of the barrel dollar for dollar. 6* I'd take an L series Deere or AYP machine over any Yardsman or other el cheapo MTD machine any day of the week. 7*If you want to compare apples to apples, compare the Jon Dear to the Cub Cadet. Dollar for dollar, the Cub Cadet is equal or better value than a Jon Dear. 8*As for the Toro unit, yes it is built by MTD because Toro ran wheel horse out of business as they have most of the companies they have acquired. 9*The XL Lawn tractors series and 315-8,400XT and 5Xi series Garden tractors are still made by Toro. ********************************* 1*I can't speak for others but my gripe is MTDs deceptive marketing by using well known brand name labels on their products thus implying they are the same quality of those of old when in fact MTD has cheapened them down to practically nothing to what they were. 2*This only applies to The low end entry level box store tractors. Get into the upper level tractors and it's a whole other ball game. In fact MTD isn't even into this market because they don't build anything to compete with in that market. 3* 4*This would be a Box store MTD VS a Box store JD. A box store tractor is a box store tractor is a box store tractor. Both pretty much the same thing. One's about as good or bad as the other. 5*Same goes for the other brands at the box store. They're all the low end entry level stuff. 6*And you'd still be getting a low end bottom rung of the ladder. tractor. 7* You can't beat the Bang for the buck of a Cub Cadet 2500 or 3000 series with a JD. 8* Wheel horse is built by Toro-That's why they are called Toro/Wheel Horse. MTD is the one doing that not Toro. Toro is still in business building all the Toro models as well as the New Holland garden tractors. (The 1 exception is the Toros sold at the box stores are the only Toros produced by MTD. ) 9* All Toros and New Holland garden tractors are built by Toro except the tractors labeled Toros found at the box stores are built by MTD.

nadjahogg: wondering how you make out with your basement project? We have a similar issue in our 1950 Cape that we've been trying to determine how to tackle. The basement was finished in the 80's but a couple times some of the very severe storms (with record rainfall) have produced some hydrostatic leaking through the concrete floor. We have a sump pit in one corner of the basement but in severe rain situations water will still push through cracks in the concrete floor. The last time it leaked, I gutted the finished basement and have been debating what to do to correct the issue and finish the space off again. The house is small, so losing that extra living space has made it feel even tighter. Here are a few of the things we've considered: 1. Exterior Drain Tiles (would require significant excavation work) 2. Interior French Drains 3. Additional Sump Pit 4. Rubber Interlocking Floor Tiles - Easy to remove and clean up water if it leaks down the road The contractors I've talked to seem to think that options 1-3 are simply not worth the high cost; just to get the basement to a point where it could be finished off again. Was curious what you decided on and if you had success with your project? Thanks!

I was going to stat another thread, but given it is getting late, etc. will just excuse my own laziness and post here. We were able to get the Fulgor Milano Sofia 30 inch double wall oven installed in early December without any real hiccups. I made one small mistake.. had I realized just how small the extra opening below the oven was going to be I would have ordered a piece of maple wood to use as a filler, and then stained to match as closely as I could. That is on me though. I was going to have a stainless trim piece made, but the piece is so small AND the oven was no flush mounted. The bare piece of pine wood is not really noticeable and eventually I will try to stain match it. The Fulgor CAN be flush mounted if desired but that would have required the opening to be further cut open. Thus far we are happy with the oven. The soft close doors are a nice touch. The fans are not overly loud when running. The glass doors never get hot regardless of oven temperature or heating duration. On fast preheat it reached 350 degrees in about 8 minutes. This year we cooked our Thanksgiving turkey on our gas grill, so having an oven again is a luxury! We've been cooking pizzas in it via a pizza stone, and thuis far that has also worked very well. I must be in love because the other night I made something I had not made in eons.. tater au gratin from a betty Crocker box! I'm laughing but I swear they had never tasted so good. Cooked very evenly as well . Thus far the only small thing I dislike, and this is really SMALL.. when the oven is turned off.. you open the door, interior light comes on. Close door, light goes off. Pretty normal. Once oven is turned on (and preheat complete), the interior light comes on and stays on. If you want it off you have to turn it off manually. Some may like this setup. I just see more interior lights burning out. Again, very small. Overall, we are very pleased with the oven. The fit and finish is very nice. I'm going to try and add photos. One of them you can see the interior of the door. The stainless has no gaps, no seams. No places for crud to get into. Doors ar every solid. etc etc!
