overthinking this perhaps? :) asian supermarkets sell dried seaweed for cheap. just buy the plain kind that doesn't have any salt/oil/seasoning, soak for a couple of days and then dump it in the garden. i've never left the seaweed mix sitting around for more than a couple of days. alternatively, burpee makes a "sea magic growth activator" that sounds like the same thing. my neighbor swears by it and thinks it's much easier to use than making seaweed tea every time you want to fertilize (he said you dump the powdered activator into a gallon of water and use that as a concentrate). last season he used a half cup of this stuff every week, got huge tomatoes and said he didn't have any problems with the concentrate rotting.

That seems totally unnecessary. Micronutrients will not wash away easily, and I would just bury the seaweed in the garden to get the full benefit. Bacteria will then recycle the vitamins and add more, specially the B and K complex which is probably what you want. Seaweed is organic matter with micro minerals, vitamin-wise is no different from regular grass clippings or dead leaves.

Thanks alot for the replies. Now I got a whole new problem. Comcast( I wont go into what I think about them) installed a neighbor's triple play and basically tore my lawn up. Yes I'm inconvenienced because someone else wants phone, internet and cable :)... They went across my lawn to get to the cable line... They didn't even warn me of what was to come. I woke up to the sound of what I thought was an earthquake in a place not known for earthquakes... In the pics below the first pic is a before on a overcast day. The second and third are today. The left side of that cut line is now raised about 3 inches higher than the original layer of the rest of that portion of the lawn. I tried jumping on it to get it to lower back down to how it once was but the results were the same as if I was jumping on concrete...any ideas on how to fix this? Or should I call up comcast and give them a piece of my mind? Before Today

I purchase 10.7oz Soluble Seaweed Powder online. Its about $15 and shipping is cheap because its powder. Makes 1gal liquid concentrate. (link below) Application rate Lawn: Spray solution of 2 teaspoon to 1 gallon of water (to cover 1,000 square feet) per month (minimum 5 applications per season.)
