acidic soil for blueberries

I plan on buying some blueberry plants this spring, and I need to prepare a garden bed with acidic soil. My normal method of making new beds is similar to lasagna gardening (but without the peat.) I lay down wet cardboard to smother the grass and top it off with about a foot of horse and rabbit manure, half-decomposed leaves, and whatever else I have on hand. Once I've planted I cover everything with a mulch of spoiled hay. It works out very well for me, but I'm not sure what to add to make an acidic bed. The acidic materials I have on hand are pine and cedar shavings and pine needles.

I also have a lot of decomposing leaves (I fill trashbags with leaves, water them down, add a little soil and let it sit in the garage over winter. By spring it's almost made its way to compost, just with some leaves still visible), and horse and rabbit manure (the rabbit manure is mixed with paper litter.)I've read that decomposing leaves are good for blueberry plants, but is the manure safe to use?

Thanks in advance for any help!
