If you put lime near those blueberries, it will kill them. Never add lime anywhere near blueberries. Lime is very, very basic, you need acid soil for blueberries. The rest of the plants would probably love it.

If your soil is clay the blueberries will not grow, They may linger for awhile.

It's way too basic. Only acid loving plants should be grown near blueberries.

They also need full sun. At least 6 hours, 10 is better.

What Drew said. Is there any way you can set up a raised bed, in a sunny spot, and move the blueberries within the next week or two, while they are still dormant?

I grow my blueberries very nicely in containers. It is easy to control the ph that they need. Also, your "landscaping nursery expert's" recommendation might not be the right thing for your other plants in the garden. Has there been a soil test? Blindly assuming a specific problem exists...can be a bit dicey. However, it may well be a basic medium.

Well thanks for all of your advise, I see now I need to get those blueberries away from the garden. there is another spot out in the yard I will try to create a blueberry patch however the association does not like wire fences.

If I made a raised bed and went long rather then wide, I could make a 6 foot fence high and six feet across or wide. I understand deer do not jump into small areas. when the bushes get bigger I could put some bird netting across to keep the birds and deer out more.

Some good advice from the other members. Trying to control the PH in ground is very hard. It can be done, but it's so much easier in raised beds or containers. I use both.

The best way to find out if you have a pH problem is to get a soil test. Blueberries need a pH between 4.5 and 5.5. Blueberries need a well drained soil and do not like clay. If the pH is too high for blueberries it is impractical to reduce the pH in clay soils. It can be done in sand and some loams but is difficult. They do well in a container with a peat based potting soil for low pH.

OK this is what I decided. Put some contrect pots in the garden and open the side fence to allow more light. Question is 15 inches by 17 wide and 17 inches deep big enough of a pot?

Yes, that should work. Use azalea potting soil. Add sulfur if you can, or use Espoma soil acidifier, use a acid loving fertilizer like Holly-Tone.
