Free Greenhouse

Hey Guys, Nicole from Gothic Arch was nice enough to E-mail this to me and suggested I post it here...

I need to dispose of a lord & b greenhouse (stored in my barn which will be demolished shortly) disassembled from the estate of J. Percy Bartram in Black Rock CT (1911 construction) including the plans from the NY Botanical Garden library (folio #1265). I have the steel which includes an arched entryway to the center of the house, much of the wood moldings, glass (including bent), cypress doors, roof louvers and hardware, steel benches etc

Weebus, tell me more. I have already emailed the address above. I would love to have it but also I am willing to pay shipping to donate it to a garden in need in my area.

Actually that is the extent of the information I have. Unfortunately, I have re-read my post, and I think I made a mistake of ASSUMING it was free. I don't see that anywhere in the E-mail I was sent, I guess I lead myself to believe that by the wording. I'll do some more checking on this, and I am sorry if I mislead anyone.

It's about 12x16 and the tunnel kind. It has vents and fans that come on when it gets too hot. It has a timer I can hook hoses up to. It's about 9 years old. I have pictures of it, but it was still on her property when I took them so I won't post them. I WILL take some this weekend, we got it up on Sunday. :) :) :)

I just hope everyone meets their end goal. Obviously the less I have to do with it, the better off some will be! I just hate it when I mess up that badly.

You didn't get my hopes up and let me down. Even if it were free. Most of us don't have the resources to gather it up and ship it and putting it back together would be a really big expense. It's probally so large it want fit in our backyards.
If you notice I said I would love to have it. Meaning I know it's not within my reach. My gesture of donating the shipping $ would probally not be enough to ship the benches muchless the huge steel archway which probally weights thousands of pounds.
The minute I saw the words Lord and B. I knew it was out my reach even if they shipped it and set it up for me, how would I ever be able to pay the fuel and upkeep.
Anyway it's the thought that counts.
