Howdy, Rose..a good excuse, but only two??? lol. Last night we went to HD and of all stores, Walgreens. Bought 2 plants at HD, Thanksgiving Cactus and bi-colored flower Cyclamen. BUT: We stopped at Walgreens for aspirin. Wouldn't you know it..adjacent the checkout counter stood a small table w/plants. At first look, they were common, but then, before I was about to walk away, there were two succulents. Ironically, while browsing Ebay yesterday, I came across a similar if not the same succulent as the one at Walgreen's. So, I bought one, though should have got both..Not a common succulent.. The outer ceramic, no-drainge container was made in Germany.. Oh, HD's plants were floating in water..A shame! Rose, I promise you..every room, even though there are plants, have furniture.. Last week we had installed LR carpet. Dh and DS hauled the desk, 'which used to hold a computer,' in the garage. Since we no longer keep a computer on the desk, I might ditch the desk. Might be nice for my tall, D. Marginata. lol. Hey Purple. Yep, Hoyas were Dead, Dead. I feel so bad. If it hadn't been for my knee plants would have been in a lot sooner. Yep, I learned a lesson...Hoyas cannot tolerate freezing temps and frozen rain. Although thick-leaf types did better, several leaves had dropped..many remaining are frost-bitten..so I have to remove a few leaves everyday..though not as many as before. Thank God! Mike..is the sun out there? Will your pics come out clear or dark? It's gloomy here, but temps are in the 60's. Still, too dark to snap a pic..I might try. Hey Purple, you and I have the same driving rules..speed unless the police are around..Great rule. I didn't know there were two people who had this right!

hmmmm.. i am in z5 ... last week was 65 to 85 degrees ... i can see the heat storage system getting somewhere.. but that was ambient air ... the week prior.. i seem to think it was 40 ish .. with night temps.. down into the 30 ... if not lower .. heck my ground wasnt even thawed when the heat hit ... how much stored heat.. could have been stored the week prior .. and how fast is significant heat stored ... come on.. admit it.. you jumped the shark .... the theory is all there.. but the fever clouded your judgement ... regardless.. you will be more hesitant next year ... which is good .. IN MARCH ... even with your setup .. as you have learned ... how about a new post.. and some pix of your greenhouse set up.. i am jealous also ... ken

Hi, cynic ... Your questions are as interesting as the original! "Is forgiving solely to benefit oneself a rather selfish motivation?" That's very possible! By nature, I'm not an unselfish person. I don't assume the best of everyone, and am not a nurturer. Forgiving, for me, means to give the problem to God. To trust Him enough to give up the control I was maintaining over the hatred/dislike. And when I do this, He gives me back the relief and takes away the power that the offender/action had over me. The gift the offender receives can be known or unknown by them .. if they believe the way I do, they will also feel the relief even if they don't know why. You've heard of people who suddenly feel a wonderful comfort, for no known reason? I think it can happen like that. In the case of a selfish offender, I haven't really encountered a serious issue with that. I can overlook a lot (probably because I'm not the most sensitive soul on the planet), so normal, daily instances where someone has done something selfish, I don't even think about. No forgiveness, because what they did isn't a real issue for me. "by not forgiving do you truly have to be holding a grudge, hatred or otherwise? You honestly cannot let something go, end a grudge or are unable to not obsess about something without forgiving?" Again, for me ... I'm not an obsessor, I'm not feeding the negative emotion on a regular basis. But it's still there, like a sore that doesn't heal, and pops up when I least expect it. I cannot honestly end a grudge without forgiveness nor can I get past true hatred without forgiveness. I may not obsess about something but if the emotion is strong, I need forgiveness to get through it. Because that means it's something I can't/won't do on my own and I need God's help. I can forgive little things without help from God, like the driver who almost ran into me when he was switching lanes while yakking on the cellphone. Because if I don't forgive him and say a little prayer that he doesn't hurt anyone with his crazy driving, then "I" am in a bad mood for a portion of the day, and he's in control! Selfish of me? Probably. But it's what I do.

I think they are OK as is but get them into the garden ASAP as cucumbers do not transplant very well especially when large. Many people plant 4-5 seeds in hills 3' or so apart and then thin the seedlings to 2-3 per hill if needed when the seedlings develop their first true leaves so you can do the same with 2 transplants per hill. In the future you might consider direct seeding the cucumbers as they tend to grow better and surpass those that are transplanted at the same time. It will also save you some money for other things that do better as transplants like Tomatoes, Peppers, Eggplant, Broccoli, etc.
