Just Thought You'd Like To Know

I talked to Trish at Ashdown today and they just got through doing inventory. They have posted additional roses to the website that haven't been offered for a while. Most are only available in small numbers. I went looking and they have General Gallieni, William R. Smith, Silver Moon, assorted ramblers, species roses, the odd HP, old HT's. Some of the roses are hard to find. I really want that Silver Moon and if I had room someone would be out of luck!! Not trying to enable or anything....

Carol, there must be an empty tree somewhere on the property...Silver Moon is absolutely beauteous!

Dang it Carol! I received an e-mail with this info earlier today, and promptly filed it without looking. I just looked. They have Grace. I have a credit... NO!!!!! Must....not....click....must...not..cl....

I will not order plants from Wayside as long as I live. Several years back, I ordered daylilies from Wayside but what I got weren't daylilies but miserable looking almost rotten roots of cheap plant. I forgot the name of plants but flowers are small ball shaped purple color and onion family. I see roots of this plant on other gardening stores priced less than 30 cents. How much did I pay for daylilies? I paied almost $50. Needless to say, I got back what I paid minus shipping and handling but my experience taught me about Wayside.

catcollector, You go girl! How wonderful it is when someone steps up to the plate to do the right thing despite being given the "run around" by all the proper wildlife authorities. Ya know ducks do that imprinting thing when they are little, so we'll just have to start calling you "ducky mom." I think what you are doing is amazing and wonderful. Funny thing is I bet you will learn as much from those little ducky babies as they will from you. I'm certain that once you give them the start they need in life, they will be fully capable of surviving on their own and that's what counts. I commend you for caring. Good luck with your ducks. I just wanted to let you folks know that I just completed a perfectly smooth transaction with a NC discounter called Blacks Furniture. I was a little worried as someone complained on another post that I did not see until after I had already ordered. I purchased a sofa, loveseat and two chairs made by Wesley Hall. They came in perfect condition, on time and the entire staff, including the delivery guys, was very friendly. I saved exactly half of what I was going to pay my interior designer to purchase for me. I know that one's success in buying from NC is in buying good quality furniture to begin with so I'm sure that this helped make my experience a positive one. I did do a thorough inspection of my furniture before the delivery guys left. That's important. Just thought you'd like to know. I'm pleased both with Blacks and wesley Hall! Dawn

Suz, the only trees I have on my very small property wouldn't stand a chance against Silver Moon. My grandfather grew that rose so I would love to have it for more than just it's beauty :-). Paul's has eaten his entire shed.

Carol----there are so many roses I would love to have but my yard is too shady.

Plus I'm taking it very easy this spring-----My back surgery was a success but now my other hip is giving me trouble------I really would love to have a full-time gardener----LOL and a much fatter pocketbook---LOL

thanks for the information----I will check out my very long list of "roses I must have"---

I have a few cuttings that have rooted and must get in the ground.

Rozanna, you of all people want to ban enabling threads? LOL. I have two many noisettes because of you. Reve d'Or is trying to take over my entire garden. Your fault.

Carol,

I know I need roses. I just am so overwhelmed.

The fence is up and the pergola is half done. It's 11 feet high and 24 feet long. That's big enough for some big roses.

luckily they didn't have a lot of new roses that were hardy in zone 5
