I think it's not a good idea to do tomatoes, peppers and other tender vegetables. Winter daylight is limited, heating the greenhouse to a reasonable temperature (>55 F at night) is very expensive because you'll be running the heater nonstop from sunset to sunrise from November through February, and if your heater fails for any reason, bam, there goes your entire crop.

Instead, I would focus on cool season vegetables. They need less heat, less sun, and it's OK if the heater fails once in a while (because cold damage is progressive). You can set the thermostat to heat to 30 F and they'll be fine.

Or you can compromise. Cool season vegetables in winter, and start your tomatoes and peppers indoors around Christmas and transplant to the greenhouse in late February when the days are longer and warmer. You'll be harvesting by Easter.

I live in a more temperate climate than you, although it does get below freezing occasionally. I quickly found that keeping my greenhouse heated sufficiently to grow tomatoes during the winter would cost me about $50 per tomato in electricity! I now settle for growing a few cool season vegetables and mainly use the slightly heated greenhouse to protect sensitive potted plants that I store there during winter.

So I guess it is "crazy".

Cool weather vegetables it is and an early jump on seedlings in the late winter/ early spring.

We planted about 100 tomato and 75 pepper plants in the garden this year and I gotta tell ya, dragging those things in and out everyday in the spring was a lot of work.

Just being able to leave them inside the greenhouse will save a lot of work.
