Cheapest price may be at a farm store or Co-op I was told. Farmers use them and don't get skinned like GH people do. I got mine at Lowe's for around $25. It's rated 50% shade. But here with 100+ days all summer it was still too hot to use the GH.

I got mine from HD (I think Lowe's sells it too). They sell it on a roll - it's 6ft wide and then you can buy it as long as you need. I like it, it's tough stuff. You can cut it without it coming all apart on ya. It comes in green, tan, black, and a kind of blue/silver. I got the blue/silver stuff thinking it would match the GH better, and my shade cloth is elevated above the peek of the roof by 1 1/2 foot so I didn't want it standing out any more than it already would. I've never been able to find out what the shade % really is (heard somewhere it was 70%) but at high noon I have 4500-5000fc coming thru the roof at 8 foot off the floor. Without the shade cloth it's 8000-10,000 and HOT as all Howdy!!!! That shade cloth really helps with the heat.
Maybe you could look on HD's web site and see if you think the price is in line with what you wanted to spend. HD also has all kinds of do-dads to attach it with too. No, I don't work for HD....lol...................

HD and Lowe's are the first places to hit if you want something for your GH. Second is to Google whatever it is and look for a local distributor. That's how I found the bubble-wrap so inexpensive.

The people at my Lowe's don't even know what it is lol. I asked the woman who is supposed to be the head gardener if they sold shade cloth. She looked at me puzzled so I pointed to above our heads where the store has shade cloth shading half of its garden section. She finally realized what it was and said they didn't sell anything like that.

Then I asked her if she could find out where the store gets its own shade cloth from and of course the answer was no. Gotta' love customer service.

I'm going to try our Home Depot but usually the employees at this local one are even less knowledgeable than the Lowe's employees, and that's pretty hard to top.

Our Walmart has small rolls but it's listed as 70% shade and that's more shade than I wanted. I'll try the farmers supply stores as someone suggested next.

The Lowe's here didn't know what it was either and there it was, stacked right in the garden center.

I haven't found our Lowe's to be very well stocked or helpful. I was looking for plastic plant labels (the ones you write on and stick in the soil)- Nope. Looking for fertilizers with micronutrients- nope, only NPK. They sell Holly-tone, Plant-tone and other Espoma products, but they wouldn't and couldn't order Citrus-tone for me. They told me all their product line is ordered by corporate.
We're in an area where there are no small garden centers, unfortunately.
I'll check our farmer's co-op and Home Depot.

Both HD and Lowe's where I live are well stocked but for individual fertalizers I have to go to Martin's, a private Nursery in Murfreesboro.
