New Ride, oh yeah

Thank you to all who helped me make my final decision. This, and other similar forums are a great resource for guys like me who analyze too much.

After 2 months of searching I find myself with a new Simplicty Regent 20/38 with a 20 HP, 656cc, Briggs ELS (newer air filter design), and mulch kit installed. Total out the door price was $2300. I was a hair away from the Kohler engine, but in the end the extra vibration from the foot pedal pushed me into the Briggs for a few bucks more. The Briggs on this tractor is a perfect fit for comfort and power. I did some haggling and horse trading, but I feel we are both satisfied. Lost my 3 year old Red Max back blower, but I can live with that.

Most importantly, my beverage did not spill or rattle to the point of foaming over during the test drive on many slopes and rough terrain. Granted it was a Coca Cola, but other more adult beverages may find their way into the cup holder. Happy riding all.

Congrats! Many happy hours of seat time to you!
I have to agree about the "beverage" issue. A few minutes in the cup holder and my um......"beverage" is almost undrinkable.

So, that is the REAL reason for the less vibratory engine! Less foaming!

I guess it worked, at least with coke.

i disagree that the first pic is a ventricosa. The leaves of ventricosa are more lanceolate. Also, the pitchers aren't bulbous enough, the coloration is a tad bit off, and the peristome isn't ventricosa-ish enough. As to the second pic, you're going to have to wait for a while before even taking a guess at what it is, and even then, it'll be just that...a guess. VFT flower stalks can get pretty long. I've seen some that were about 1ft on plants that looked closer to the ground and smaller than yours.

Oh yes, I also love the platter, it can be used for so many things. Plus, now that Diane has a new book, her GD is going to be a part of this swap too, another participant! That looks really good, Linda! I made one batch a couple of weeks ago, but got a whole mess of tomatoes yesterday for free. So I have Marinara Sauce and Tomato Basil Soup on the stove right now, and enough tomatoes for another batch of Salsa and another batch of whatever strikes my fancy! I thought that commercial was cute! Never thought of chicken and waffles as being sexy, but that couple sure did. How cute! I am having waffles and sausage for supper. Husband requested it for tonight. He had a craving for waffles. I don't have a belgian waffler, but the old sunbeam waffle maker I got when I got married in 1970. LOL Yeah, I know it is not chicken and waffles, but our small town does not have an IHOP. It is about 45 miles away in a larger town. So we country folk have to do what you townies take for granted. LOL Glenda, I hope you finally got to enjoy those waffles and chicken...they sure did look delicious!!! Especially the ones with the cherry sauce on them. YUM YUM.

I definitely like the Simplicitys, my father and brother have similiar tractors.

They have taken a beating, and continue working.
