I had chosen TajMahal quartzite but unfortunately when they were loading on truck it wad damaged. For edging do not do straight edge especialky if it is the thinner slab as you will see the material they use to put two pieces together. ogee with under offset. there are guides on internet. In the end I chose Perla Venato which is quartzite and so very similar to Taj Mahal in colour. I am so glad of my choice. This slab was thicker so just a straight edge. simple but timeless. Make sure your fabricator is goid with quartize as it is a harder stone to work with. Go there and talk to them. Go view the slab before delivery and check it. Do a final hand sweep especially along the edges before they glue it down. My only regret is that we did not use same stone as backsplash. Will use quarzite over granite again in future.

Joanna, I am reading along here with the same dilemma! Fell in love with the Taj after seeing it in a kitchen our contractor recently finished in Roseville. I think it's your yours! With the beautiful crackle backsplash? I was thinking I'm in the same situation of not wanting to wait until the counters are in to decide since Gary will be moving on to his next job! Your kitchen is my inspiration! Beautiful!

I’m honestly not entirely sure how they calculate their sf or prices….all I know is that for roughly 63 sf we are paying a bit under $13000, perimeter counters only (we have an L-shaped kitchen, plus another small piece next to the fridge, which will be our breakfast station); the 63”x90” island top will be walnut (the cost per sf is about the same). We at first wanted to do a 4” backsplash between the countertop and the windows, but just that alone would have added another $2600, so we dropped that idea. This fabricator “doesn’t charge for unused pieces” of the slabs, you “only pay for what you actually use”, but you know that there’s no way we don’t get charged for unused pieces, even though we don’t own them once we’re done….this is why the cost/sf is so high. We’ve made peace with the cost, and if all comes out well we’ll be happy. Obviously, we’d rather pay your prices, but it is what it is….I do wish I knew how much MSI is actually charging for the slab, if we were to buy it directly from them, but that’s not how they do it, and we won’t ever know. ☹️

That slab is gorgeous! Your choices looks beautiful! I like that the stone has some very light turquoise swirls to bring in the colors of the glass tiles. Maybe even if it is a marble, it won’t be so bad in a bathroom? Shoots I thought I had a better photo of the bathroom to show you. I did glass tile for the waterfall and then the backs of the two niches. My thought for the shower floor was to look kind of like lava rock. This is our little hawaii cottage. Yes the window is spun upside down. 😆 Vanity and sparkle white quartz is the same as kitchen. And also I have admired your kitchen for a while! I love the fantasy brown and backsplash!
