New Gardening Shows on HGTV - Let's Hope They are Good!
Comments (7)I have Comcast and HGTV is part of the Expanded Basic package. It is channel 32 in my area--of course, that could be different everywhere. It's good these shows are on but I'm sorry they are repeats. Gardens change so much over time. And many gardens I visited some years ago are very different now--better, because of the greater interest in gardening and the money that can come with that....See MoreThanks HGTV
Comments (54)This channel is only looking for cheap programming to fill its hours. I have it on the inside that their production crews that do these gardening shows know nothing about it at all. They don't even have an authorized expert consultant they listen to. The idea is to go as cheap as possible. They don't even produce these shows themselves. They are produced by a hodge podge of small independent production companies. It would do them well, to maybe listen to you all and give you want you want. Real Gardeners and what real gardeners want, maybe even get some new gardeners excited about a very enjoyable and stress reducing activity. There is so much new information out there they can cover from new cultivars to new advance is bio science. With everyone trying to Go Green it is foolish to abandon the gardens. Just need to kept pressing on, they are not the only fish in the sea. It's just that they have that garden word in their name :-) I guess that is why we feel we should be entitled to have gardens on air....See MoreMail from HGTV!!
Comments (20)My favorite hgtv program that they took off the air was landscape by design with Gary Allen, I learned more from this show, than most landscapers. For the first few years, I would not miss a show, they had great ideas on how to landscape front and back yards. They showed you how to make your small yard look inviting like it was designed by a professional landscape designer.. They showed how to design, gardens and flowerbeds for the average small homes in America. They also showed how deep to plant plants, and what slow release ferterlizer to use when planting, and how to mulch plants. Everything you needed to know to do your own yard, it was a great show. I would not miss it. I learned about placing plants in the landscape, and what plants to use, and grouping of plants. I watched it for at least 2 years. Then the show took a new route, they only did million dollar new homes. Then Gary bought some acreage with an older home at the lake, and then every show was a project he did on this older home from redoing the bathroom to redoing the black top driveway. It got so boring, then finally it was taken off the air. I wish they would show the reruns on this show, it was great. I actually took notes from the programs. It was the best show for the small homeowner who could not afford to get a landscape designer to do their yard....See MoreHGTV"S show with Chip and Joana Gaines
Comments (65)interesting..here, in the listings "6 rooms" means living spaces- (for example) living, dining, family plus 3 bedrooms..kitchens and bathrooms are not included. but it goes in the detailed listing..the main description, the one that will pop in the search, will give you bedrooms and bathrooms amount only by the way I forgot-is the powder room(2 pieces) considered half a bath or quarter a bath? PS Sherry that article is too funny, and so very true...See Moregrowlove
