Tibean, I've seen people water moss sticks in the erroneous belief that the climbing roots of the plant need water. Could someone be watering the pothos that way? The climbing roots are only functioning as support, so they don't need to be watered. As Petrushka noted, maybe occasional misting to prevent drying, but in my experience, that isn't usually necessary either. Also, I have only a phone screen to see the photo, but I think I see some yellow leaf edges, which likely means the plant is being overwatered. Obviously, that'll increase the likelihood of mold growth. Cut WAY back on water when the plant isn't actively growing. Most plants are more tolerant of drying out a bit than they are of staying wet. Pothos, like a number of other aroids, grows larger leaves as it grows upward. The higher it climbs, the larger the leaves get. You can see this phenomenon even in the growth of the plant in the photo. Pothos allowed to climb up trees into the canopy can grow 2-foot leaves. Even more interestingly, once a stem reaches a height and drops back down, the leaves on the dangling portion of the stem become smaller again. As Petrushka said, providing something to climb is imperative if you want large growth.

That being said, i wanted to take this opportunity to elaborate a bit more on "common bermudas". Common to me is just a term that indicates a bermuda that can be established by seed. There are however, improved common varieties that will tolerate mowing down to 1/2". some include Princes, Yukon, riviera, sahara, mohawk and there are others. Below i wanted to show you 4 different types of bermudas, from thinest stem to thickest stem. 1. Tiff 419 (Hybrid bermuda) 2. Yukon (improved common) 3. what might be Celebration 4. "Common bermuda" aka arizona common. Notice the thickness of each. The reason I'm showing you this is to help those out there understand why you typically mow common bermuda at taller heights. I never realized there was a big difference between bermudas until I had my own bermuda lawn. That previous picture i posted is made up of bermuda 3 and 4. I mow it at 1" with a reel mower 2-3 times a week. I have mowed it with a rotary mower as well and it still looks nice but not as clean cut as my reel. With the rotary mower it does tend to suck up the grass giving it a choppy look when i mow. Have in mind the more sun your yard gets, the denser it will be, that being said, it can scalp easier with a rotary when it is denser. SO.. In your case, i would mow at 1.25" or even 1.5" until you decide to go for a reel mower. Remember, if you do have a improved variety, you can probably get away with the lowest setting on your rotary mower once you have given it a scalp (below desired height) at the beginning of the season. I mostly speak from experience.....

1. Leave the shortened culms alone. Even though they won't grow, their leaves will provide energy to the plant to help grow new culms. 2. If you are lucky, the new culms will fill in within a year. 3. Fire the gardener.

daskitab, From my experience Hens and Chicks can grow fairly quickly in favorable conditions. It depends if you have them outside , what climate your in etc. I would start now if only to allow for trial and error. I have propagated Hens all the ways you can and I've had most success with them growing from a a stem cutting given to me by a neigbor. I simply place it on some soil and let it do its thing. I only mist it once every few days. I will more as summer gets in full swing. GOOD LUCK.. And you will have success as long as your patient. I think the best advice I can offer is DONT OVER WATER !!!!! They can survIVE underwatering but over watering will definitley kill them ..
