I can't speak for your zone, here in my zone 6 they are an annual.

I can say from years of experience that in my area of Pa. where we are overrun with deer, they don't touch it. Deer generally don't like anything with a pungent smell. I love lantana's, I use them in my containers and also put many in the ground. I plant them quite close to get the fullness I desire. They are drought resistant and just a great all around plant.

I grew one called Cherry Bandana last year (lable is gone but I think that was the name). It was a pretty cherry, yellow flower blend. It had deeper roots then I thought it would have when I pulled it this spring - and I pulled it this spring because it was deader then a doornail. So it's an annual for me too. I've grown Lantana a few times before and this one was no exception. They all seem to stop blooming much when the real heat shows up (90+), which in our area means pretty much all summer. I grew a yellow one (not the gold one, a true solid yellow), and it was the only one that suffered through the heat and bloomed it's head off all summer.

Okay, in my research, I am getting conflicting information. I have read Lantana Bandana series are cold hardy zones 9 and 10, other sites say 6-10. Anyone in Maryland have success with their Lantana Bandana series returning in the spring? These are such pretty, delicate flowers, i would love to have them return next spring!!

I live in Maryland, and have grown it. It will not come back, and never has here. Although it is one of the only annuals that I will buy because it gets huge and blooms its head off all summer long. They are gorgeous, and are worth the money. Even though it will not survive the winter, im sure that you will enjoy it. On the other hand, I have grown several dianthus plants that were also supposed to be annual and have come back for several years in a row. I was always puzzled by that. Unfortunatly, my lantanas have never done that. Still, I don't think that you will be dissappointed! -Jessica
