i think you just have new father paranoia ... crimminey.. its august.. leaves look battered ... and there is nothing to do about it ... and frankly.. your leaves do NOT look battered ... and i see little or no JB damage .... put down the sprayer.. and walk away ... your new vines.. are growing roots .. so as to mature .. and eventually fruit... they .. nor i .. really care about their leaves ... frankly.. you need to take a course on IPM this winter ... contact your local extension office and see if a class is offered in your area .... otherwise.. i fear you are on the road to excessive chemical usage leading to pollution ... The beast answer found but I feel I have seen multiple Pics vs multiple links as I have used from Photobucket. Now the question is were those Pics merged into one and posted. They did not appear to be as I can merge in Word and my email. I'll find one of the post in question and ask the person that sent the post. For now I understand!! Attaching a photograph: This forum supports the ability to attach one single photograph per post. The photograph must be 60K or smaller (which can be rather small unless it is a close up). You can also provide pictures by using a photohosting site like Photobucket, Flikr, Picasa, ImageShack, Webshots, Shutterfly, SmugMug, Snapfish, etc. These sites usually let you create a free account and upload full sized pictures. Once your photo (or photos) is uploaded, you will be given a link to share your pictures with others. Copy that link and paste it in the body of your message. You can have multiple links if you have multiple pictures. If you want to attach a picture here (60K or smaller), first compose your message and then select "preview message". On the next screen you will see a preview of your message and a box that says Image file to upload (optional): Choose the "browse" button to find the picture on your computer (or thumb drive). Select it and attach it. Preview your message once more and then select "submit". If you need to attach another picture, you will need to create a new post. If you want to practice, find the "Test" forum in the list of all forums.

Eew. Yeah, those are bugs; the ants are hanging around because the sucking insects excrete excess sugars (that they're sucking out of your plant) as a sticky "honeydew" substance that the ants love. They'll even "farm" groups of aphids, protecting the aphids and collecting the honeydew. [Note: I don't know that these are aphids; they may be some sort of scale?] Can you scrape the bugs off? If so, a stiff blast of water will get rid of them pretty quickly, though it will need to be repeated daily for a while, as eggs already laid will hatch and start eating. (The bugs you spray off won't find their way back to your plant). If you can't scrape them off easily, then you'll have to do as Barb suggests and spray the plant with a systemic insecticide. eliza -- 1. go to photobucket, get a free account 2. upload your photos 3. choose the images you want to post by checking the little box 4. go to bottom of page and click GENERATE HTML (it will take you to another page with 4 boxes to choose from) 5. click the 2nd box, it will say copy after you click 6. go to your post and type what you want then hit paste and picture HTML should appear 7. hit preview message and you should see your type and pics goodluck, keep trying if you don't get it the 1st time.
