It looks very cosy. The brush adds a homely twist. I wish my garden had woken up, it's still a brown muddy mess with hardly any spring flowers. We've had the coldest March since 1888 so spring has been delayed with cold nights in spite of sunny days. I discovered a few eranthis today and some shy crocuses because I have been stupid enough to plant most bulbs on the north side that thawed last.

People in south Sweden without snow cover have suffered more from the cold and the March sun than we have in the middle. Lots and lots of rhododendrons have died on them. I've lost three young plants in sunny spots but most of mine are in shade. I've lost a few roses but none that I miss very much.

Very nice, Suzy, and it's tidier than our front terrace, by a considerable margin. Welcome to spring!
Here we just got done with a week of summer temperatures and are returning to a more normal spring freshness. I hope it doesn't hail, though. Our first half of spring got compressed and a lot of fruit trees flowered in a hurry. My Parma violets loved the warmth, though, especially 'Marie Louise', which stretched out its stems to get its little double lavender blooms up to the sun. What a cutie. The catalog describes it as having an exotic fragrance; to me it smells like grape candy. My mangled Tea roses look as though they may recover in time: they're putting out a lot of new growth.

That is my little peach - can you see the broom handle right through the middle? My garden is a wind-tunnel and last year, the whole tree snapped at the graft, hanging on by just a strip of cambium. Emergency surgery with micropore tape and the broom and the graft actually callused over completely. Thjis spring, I removed the tape but suspect the broom will be remaining there forever since it has been jammed right into the middle of the root ball.
The little garden gets better and better(in my eyes, obvs) and I am off to gloat at the allotment today - expect photos.

Whenever you mention your allotment, I always think of the community gardens in the Fens in Boston and the adjacent Fenway Park.
Boston is one of our most beautiful cities. Still this morning, I find myself in unbearable pain from all the suffering in Boston. I hope that like your gardens, the Fens are awakening too.
I anticipate the national anthem this afternoon that will waft over the Fens and reverberate beyond, and I am there with them.

I'm not sure that I've seen peach trees flowering before but those blooms are exquisite. I love finally seeing pictures of your garden, Suzy; it brings you that much closer to us here across the pond.
