Peas growing in the MD/VA/DC/DE area?
Comments (4)pea flowers start at the top and work their way down, so check if you have flowers coming soon from the section between the vine and where the leaves come out. If you do, more peas are on the way. If you don't, there might be too much nitrogen in your soil. Veggie plants like nitrogen but too much makes more plant than veggie....See MoreWhat flower seeds can we plant now in Md/Va/DC area?
Comments (3)I've pulled out my seed spreadsheet (seeds that I personally have, so it's not comprehensive). Here are the ones that can be sown in the fall: WILL BLOOM THE FOLLOWING SPRING/SUMMER: Centaurea - bachelors' buttons Consolida - larkspur Cosmos Cynoglossum amibile - Chinese forget-me-not Gypsophilia - baby's breath (mine self-sows, so it should be okay to sow in the fall) Malva - mallow Morning glory Nigella - love in a mist Papaver - poppy Nasturtium Portulaca - moss rose (another that self-sows, so should be okay to fall-sow) Ruta graveolens - rue (the herb) WILL NOT BLOOM THE FOLLOWING SPRING/SUMMER--WILL BLOOM THE ONE AFTER THAT: Alcea rosea - hollyhocks Aquilegia - columbine Chrysanthemum maximum- shasta daisies Cranesbill geranium Dianthus barbatus - sweet william Digitalis - foxglove Lupines Myosotis sylvatica - forget-me-not NOT SURE IF IT WILL BLOOM THE FOLLOWING SPRING/SUMMER--MAY BLOOM, OR MAY WAIT TILL THE YEAR AFTER: Chelone - turtlehead Chrysopsis mariana - asters Delphinium Dicentra - bleeding heart Euphorbia - cypress spurge Geum - geum/avens Rudbeckia - black-eyed susan/gloriosa daisy Stachys byzantina - lamb's ears Verbena Hope this helps! Comments (16)If you are still looking for Soapstone - Give Goran a call at Stone & Tile World in Rockville, MD at 301-231-7777. They just installed our counter -- good to work with - they worked through a number of tricky cuts, fabrication and reworks (without complaint) to make things right. We have a lot of unusual angles due to u-shaped counter with a bay window in the middle. Additionally, we spent a lot of time going round & round with different slabs -- visited lots of DC Area distributors / warehouses in the middle of nowhere... ugh such a time suck... we couldn't decide on what we wanted/liked - finally, fate intervened and the right slab found us. They are a fabricator; but Goran will steer to to the right distributors locally. I spoke with him earlier today - confirmed shortage of Soapstone in the area, but said he should be able to locate what you need....See MoreQuestion & Recommendations from MD/DC/VA folks
Comments (59)Hope you feel okay to join us on Sunday pcjs! If others are bringing spouses, I will "drag" mine along as well. He would be very happy to talk to someone else NOT about kitchens :). I am going to do a new post to try to get a bit more attention to see if we can get any more confirmations. I posted a new thread- Here is a link that might be useful: Help from Marylanders thread...See Moreolga_6b
