Help! triple wall polycarbonate or double glass

Hubby is building my greenhouse and I thought we had things all figured out to go with argon filled double layer glass. Now I'm hearing that 16mm triple wall polycarbonte is just as good R-value wise and much easier to install. He could cut it himself with no custom ordered pieces. I live in Eastern Iowa where it gets pretty cold. I will have insulated north wall and roof. Building thermal mass stone wall along north wall out of retaining wall blocks for solar heat gain. Frame is 2X6 treated lumber and it will be 13.5 X 21 feet. sliding glass door into house. Want to grow year round and keep at 50 min temp. Please help give me an unbiased opinion. the sales people all push their direction of course. I am finding different opinions on the R value of glass too. Websites say 2.5 when Roger Marshall's book says it can be up to 8 argon filled. thank you in advance.......Kat in Iowa
