Ariens 5520 Snow Blower - axle bushings
hi all,
I have Ariens 5520 Snow Blower in nice shape, after inspecting it I noticed that the axle to the unit is bushed to the frame (no bearings). I was wondering about lubricating those bushings when I got to thinking - getting oil/grease on that rotating disk (or related drive parts) will create slippage which I dont want to deal with especially in the cold weather.
I had an old toro single stage (god rest its soul) which had its axle riding on bearings ... Has anybody had to install bearings on these Ariens units or I am being paranoid?
Can anybody give me any tips on lubrication - I dont feel like taking that inspection plate off the back bottom if i dont have to - its too cold for me to start disassembling the unit. (But Ill do it if I really need to...)
And as most of you know the moment I start opening it up - 37 other things will interrupt me - and it will start snowing like a cow peeing on a flat rock...
thanks for your time.
Thanks Dave
