Using a hot tub to heat a poly tunnel?
Comments (1)That is a creative idea. You might get a lot of condensation dripping off your ceiling, though, and on your plants' leaves in the morning. I had a 225 gallon fish tank with an open top and a waterfall filter in my 14x48 high tunnel. The humidity can be nice when the outside air is dry, but all my plants were wet with condensation every morning, and a lot of my tomatoes got early blight. Wet leaves promote disease....See Moresoaking tub - insulate or heat pump?
Comments (3)live wire oak, do you have one of these tubs? I'm kind of taking a leap of faith that it's going to work in my bathroom and not overwhelm it. Wondering what your experience with it is. Comments (2)yeah, that makes sense re: closed circuit/air in the lines. regarding running the boiler, definitely.i have a wood stove in the house that runs 8/12 months of the year for sure - it's my primary heat source. i recently put a basement under the house and it's prepped for infloor heating, though i don't have it hooked up yet. there's a unit made by a company called "walltherm" that is certified for interior use and has a coil in it, so i don't need the outdoor boiler. it would be heating all domestic hot water as well. i will put in radiant heat in the greenhouse, but it was the hot tub that was the question....See MoreCollapsible Bathtub (and heating it)
Comments (1)might look at how this Coleman does it... seems very well received. Nice project. Maybe the heater/pump is a replacement item you could get. https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-SaluSpa-Inflatable-Hot-Tub/dp/B00NB3P98G/ref=sr_1_5...See Morenathanhurst
