Brandon, thanks for that link. Yes, there is a regional office near me, but I have no idea what they do there. I just followed all the links to submit a sample for identification of disease on a shrub, and the fee is $50. and it requires you to send the sample to UMASS Amherst by Priority Mail for within 48 hours delivery time, which costs another $5-$10. The shrub didn't cost me that much. They offer a few seminars, I notice, but again, they are held on the UMass Amherst campus, not at the local office. And it is $95. for the seminar. You can get your soil tested still, but again, you have to send it to UMass Amherst location. Years ago, you used to be able to drop it off at the local office, but not any more. Plus if you look around the website, you will see that their focus is on serving the Landscape and Agricultural Industry and not really the homeowner. I would be interested to know what their program is known for outside of Massachusetts. I haven't seen what they have available for video programs.

Hi Edna. Something's screwed up with my computer or camera. My camera is fairly new. I think it's the computer. DH installed a new anti-virus program and I've been having issues ever since. Everything looks like it's loading fine but when I go to view what has uploaded there's nothing in my windows where the pics are stored. DH is going to have to take a look at it. It's pissing me off. The foliage looks like Maya, not really heavily variegated (see pic in OP) and the bloom ended up being a light pink. There's multiple stems coming from below the soil and the ones that have any foliage left are variegated. I know for a fact that I haven't bought or traded for any variegated doubles so I'm confused as to what's going on. You are probably the only one I would even get a plant like that from. lol Eloise I've found a few nice brugs and other plants in the junk pile. I'm waiting for another double to color up so I can figure out what it might be. I'd even tossed a Snowbank into the pile.

It is very lovely where we are, we are surrounded by commercial nurseries because we have such great growing conditions right where we are. We feel very, very blessed We do spend huge amounts of time outside, here. I have an entire outdoor kitchen, in fact (both of us being of Italian extraction, we must have an awesome kitchen, lol!) We are all doing well, I am recovering from a shingles outbreak, which I'm kind of young for and had not gotten the vaccine, yet. I would not wish that on my worst enemy. So, I would admonish anyone who had chicken pox as a kid, to talk to your doctor about the wisdom of getting a shingles vaccination. I'm hoping I don't end up with permanent nerve damage from that outbreak, ugh. All the family is well, and we're gearing up for our annual July 4th shindig! Jades are doing great! One is big, one is still small, and I might have a little something for you, hint, hint :-) Patty S.
