I myself looked for ages for the half bowls fr walls and could not find anyone to fit my indoor need. So I ended up making myself three just similar to wolly pockets...I used felter from jo ann stores, and a protective liner of plastic just in the side that goes against the wall and the bottom to protect from when you water. it has been 7 months and my variety of plants have been thriving and looking great on them. The secret is that because the felter, there is so much aeration that the soil dryes pretty fast. So you need once and a while take them from the wall to inside your sink and water throughly, let drain and hang them again. I do that once a month and it is more than enough, out of that I water kinda of half cup of water once a week for each pocket. I am sure your son will love because it makes a modern green wall looking which is not feminine, but very unisex type of decor.

What a TERRIFIC idea...clay hose pots. I found one that is even more beautiful than the simple terracotta pot. It is hand rubbed copper plated steel one. So I'm stoked! Thank you Lehau13 -- for the excellent suggestions!

I really don't have a pretty DR room in my home - too many doors and windows, but this RMS room will always be one of my favorite dining rooms. I found it when she first posted and apparently it is a favorite among many because it keeps cropping up as a favorite inspiration. It takes a while to read through all her comments, but it was a DIY job without spending a lot. You can also link to her LR which I also like. It is a very 'livable' room, using pieces she had, tweeking them, and (gasp) Ashley furniture. I think all her rooms are good examples young couples decorating their first home. I assume you're just seeking kitchen cabinet advice on this forum, but you mention that you're talking with the cabinet maker about custom closets as well. We just moved into our custom-built home, with on-site built custom cabinets. For our closet, I measured exactly how much hanging space I needed and husband needed, exactly how much shoe space we needed, exactly how many drawers we needed, exactly how much space my husband's huge T-shirt and baseball cap collection (sometimes I think he thinks he's still in college) takes up, etc. Although our closet is on the small side of today's master closets, it fits us perfectly ... and I had it built so that our clothing collection can grow a little over time. Space was a premium in our closet, so I wanted to make sure we used it as effectively as possible and didn't have too much hanging space when we fold a lot of our clothes. We also took shelves all the way up to our 9-foot ceilings and I keep an three-step step-stool in the closet. So, those are my suggestions for your master closet.
