When to transplant in 6b

This is funny because I just read another post from a newbie in NJ...that is what I am too.

I am not too concerned about if the plants survived (yet) alot of them have growth that I can see.

I have one bed that in the first year grew a little "bigger" than I expected and I would like to move some of the plants to different locations but I don't know when would be the best time to do so. The plants I would like to move are: Jupiters Beard, Armeria Bloodstone, Dianthus, and possibly some Coreopsis'. All of these plants have new growth.

My problem is that I need to travel from the 28th of March to April 7th....and then again from April 14th to the 22nd. I am worried that I will miss the optimal time for transplanting.

I did read that you should transplant early bloomers in very early spring....is mid March too early?

Thanks for the help.

Craig
