Cow Manure and Shredded Office Paper

OK... probably a dumb question, however... I have an unlimited supply of both. The office building produces at least 4-5 50gal bags of 1/4 inch shredded paper PER DAY. My landlord has about 30 head of of cattle and said I could collect if I wanted...

My questions are: If I used pallets to make a compost bin, layered the manure and shredded paper...

1) would it be a good compost in spring? (i did read somewhere if I turned daily - compost in 4 weeks, turn weekly, 6 months, turn monthly, a year)

  1. what ratios?

3) adding leaves would affect ratio how?

Am I just over thinking this? I am moving next month and want badly to have a garden. It is farmland, right now it has about 5 foot "grass" everywhere... I am confused about all the advice, but I do know compost is good... lol

Thanks,

gngn
