Is this Bellis perennis (Lawn Daisy)?
Comments (3)As far as I can tell this is not Bellis perennis. The foliage is wrong and there appear to be leaves on the flower stalks which Bellis perennis never has. Even 4 inches would be tall for a daisy....See MoreEnglish daisy/bellis-- easy to grow from seed?
Comments (2)Also, they seem to like the cooler spring weather, so I'd start in very early spring and sow indoors under lights. I always spread the seed that the plants produce outdoors but I never have gotten germination that way....See MoreEnglish Daisies
Comments (2)Pam, thanks for the info. I'm thinking I might be better off putting them in containers. Makes me mad that I spent $5 for an annual (I bought 3)!. Julie...See MoreDoes anyone grow 'Elsie' or 'Daisy Wilcox'?
Comments (17)Hey Andrew, Here is a pic of a plumie where the tip sealed over. Usually the tip stops producing leaf claws, its like cutting the tip off so you may end up with multiple new tips or just a single. Here is a pic of a plumie that sealed over and sent out a new tip. Daisy Wilcox tends to do it, I've had my DW for about 8yrs and it has had tips seal over maybe 4 different seasons. I mentioned earlier that Mikes pink has a huge 6" plus flower, its a prettier version of a DW and does not seal over. Hey Andrew, Here is a pic of a plumie where the tip sealed over.
