Andrew- Daisy is an outstanding flower- very large. It is a heavy bloomer too. Here is a pic of it compared to a 2"flower and a dime. It regularly produces 5" flowers and I have had one 7" flower which was the largest. 5"-5.5" is normal. Bill

So I guess I will have to move this variety to the top of my list! Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I have really just begun growing plumerias this past year.

There are so many varieties out there, it makes my head spin! I know I could always find room for more plumerias but realistically I want to make sure that I buy varieties that are superior and from what your saying, it sounds like this will be a must for me. I have found a few nurseries that I would order from, I just need to keep narrowing down my list. I have more than a dozen that I would like to buy this spring and summer. I am hoping that I can make it to Florida Colors this summer.

Like Bill said..it is a very heavy bloomer...very fragrant, beautiful color and very easy to grow...

I personally love my Daisy Wilcox!! IT bloomed for me while rooting, but it did not branch out for me...so I am hoping that it will this summer! It if finally does branch out..I'll help you out!! : )

Here is the pic that I love the best..I used it as my christmas cards this year...Thanks to a very nice person who gave me this cutting!!!

You have all ready been too kind to me! I really appreciate your offer but yours is still too small to cut. I wouldn't want to cut mine if it were that small still and I wouldn't ask you to do something that I wouldn't want to do myself.

Tonight I finally repotted my 6 seedlings. I think they are Kona hybrids but I have to double check. Anyhow, I potted up 2 to each pot with a raw egg in each pot. now lets see how well they do with the egg!

I have noid plumeria that looks similar to a Daisy Wilcox. What is the fragrance similar to? The one I have smells like or close to a celedine.

It will be interesting to see how the seedlings react with the egg method...Also, please explain about the cinnamon...
I will be interested to here about how this works with the cuttings...This is the first time that I have heard of this method....

Ploomer...I think that the fragrance is different from the Celadine...this is the first year for my blooms on the Daisy WIlcox...but I can tell you that it is different to me from the other.

I hope someone that has more experience with both can explain the difference in the two frangrances....

Hi Laura,
Please email me when you get back from work. I will keep you posted on the raw egg and seedlings okay? Cinnamon is a natural treatment for rot. It had been used quite awhile to stop rot. Give it a try sometime. I just sprinkle enough to cover the cut after I remove the rotten portion.

I have both plants, they are totally different.
Elsie has a good growth habit, where as Daisy is not so compact and will get tips that seal over. Elsie has flowers that are about 3", good bloomer on shorter tips. DW has huge inflos with individual flowers that reach to 7" if she is happy. I actually prefer Mikes Pink from Maui Plumeria Gardens, tips do not seal over, similar growth habit and shiny leaves with HUGE flowers. Most people mistake Mikes pink for DW. Mikes pink tends to have pink speckles in the petals and keeps its slight pinkish tint longer, but the biggest perk is that the tips do not seal over.

Here is a pic of a plumie where the tip sealed over. Usually the tip stops producing leaf claws, its like cutting the tip off so you may end up with multiple new tips or just a single. Here is a pic of a plumie that sealed over and sent out a new tip. Daisy Wilcox tends to do it, I've had my DW for about 8yrs and it has had tips seal over maybe 4 different seasons. I mentioned earlier that Mikes pink has a huge 6" plus flower, its a prettier version of a DW and does not seal over.

Hello Freak, I checked the Maui Plumeria Gardens website last night for "Mikes pink", but they said "No match found". Does the plant you are talking about also go by another name? Sure would love to see a picture. What does it smell like and what is the keeping quality? Thanks,

Mikes Pinks almost exactly like Daisy except again it dosn't seal over and the flowers tend to have pink speckles, the pink tint in the flower also stays pink longer then Daisy.
Mikes pink is hard to get, limited supply, I got mine about 3 or 4 seasons ago. You may want to email Jennifer at MPG and ask her and she can tell if she will have anymore available.

Daisy pic taken in 2003. My patch is close to the coast so it can be very overcast and cool during the summer so my ploumie colors like on daisy never are strong.

Mikes Pink....Not a great pic hard to see the little pink speckles like glitter. This pic was taken Summer 2010 which was a very very cool summer but the pink sparkles still show up. To me it is superior to Daisy.

DW and Mikes pink have the same thick texture so it has good keeping quality. As for scent I can not remember, to me both were on the faint side and similar. I do not live at my plumie patch, I live about 45 min away from where I grow my plumies. I have several friends who live in Carlsbad, the temps are similar but some how the nights are slightly warmer where my patch is, I think you guys have more frost risk. Well good luck
