Metamorphosis of Archduke Charles

Since this is the Archduke's first flower on his baby body (and only the second flower of my Spring), I gave him the star treatment with the camera. He turns out to be very photogenic and not the least boring. I have longed for this China rose for a long time and am so pleased with his debut which includes a delectable, sweet candy fragrance. I have this December arrival growing permanently (hopefully) in a very large pot. Each day the very double flower was completely different and swept me off my feet. It seems I'm as in love with red/pink flowers as I am red/yellow ones. So here's four days in the life of Archduke Charles.

Isn't he just gorgeous?? It's spring, and I'm in love.
