Not to ask the olbvious, but do you have a cover? If not, that should help.

I don't have a hot tub, but I find them everywhere, one time in the dish drainer in the kitchen. Heard him calling for a mate and followed the sound, there he was. They live under the siding on the house around the window sills, in the eaves of the house. Anywhere they can find and they don't hurt a thing. Glenda

oops I should have said "under the hot tub lid" I have a really nice lid, I am afraid that they will get in and get in the water and boil themselves or not be able to get out and drown.

We have a small rubbermaid storage shed that ours love to hang out in. We also have control boxes for our electric fences (horses) in there. One day I went out into the yard and heard a very large snapping sound. Followed the sound to the shed and when I opened the door I saw flashes of light coming from the electrical boxes. There was a green tree frog stretched out across the 2 terminals. He was cooked black except for his head. Smelled terrible. I keep running them out of there, but it seems to be a perfect hang out for them "most of the time". So good luck in keeping them out. Glenda

I have only had to rescue one from the hot tub. I've had the tub for five years.

I too have tree frogs living under my hot tub cover - 4 of them in various sizes. They are tame and sit inches from us while we touch them and talk to them. However, I'm afraid that because of the warm moist environment, they will not hibernate and being in Michigan, bugs will be gone here shortly, and they will starve. Should I think about relocating them to another area of the yard to encourage the hibernation process? I thought nature took care of that! :)
