Ants and Aphids on my Viburnum - should I be concerned?

I just planted this Blue Muffin Viburnum last fall. It is only about 2 ft. tall at the most. Just recently I noticed ants crawling up and down the stems and what looks like aphids or aphid eggs stuck along the stems too. The ants look like they are caring for the eggs somehow. I don't know a whole lot about insect behavior, but I don't like that these guys are living on my little Viburnum! It flowered white this spring but now those have died away and there's no sign of any blue berries as described on the card. Are the ants hurting it? Does anyone know how I can rid the plant of the insects without hurting it? Thanks in advance! Linda
