I've laid more pavers than I care to remember and can tell you the Unilocks are better than any others I ever laid. They are made better and harder. I can tell you there is a difference and you can see it by wetting different brands and the Unilocks usually dry faster than others indicating they are harder and don't absorb as much moisture. I have a walk at my home made with Unilock field and anouther brand as edges and it is very noticable after a rain. Unilock was one of if not the original maker of concrete pavers the technology came out of Germany. No I don't work for Unilock :)

Cambridge did zero for us. They sent out a guy to inspect and basically told us it was an install issue. That is bologney because as mentioned we had dark gray ones that nothing happened to using the same install method. Also we had extra pavers left over on a pallet that sat out through the winter and the same thing happened to the ones on top of the pallet. Cambridge told me they would try to get me a deal if I wanted to purchase new pavers from them but they never responded to any of my follow up emails or calls. Their customer service and guarantee is a joke.

I am researching belgard, unilock and cambridge and I now see Techo-Bloc as the options. I actually will be doing a patio area in front of a brownstone not the steps. I would like to use the best product for wear and tear that will not look worn out after 8-10 years(like my neighbor's currently does). I would appreciate any feedback on which of these companies has the best product. I seem to be initially drawn to the uni-lock "brussels block" but am interested in anyone's experience and advise. I used to deliver Belgard to distributors. I can't say anything bad about the competition, but the distributors used to like Belgard along with the high volume contractors. I can't imagine a paver wearing out. I'm curious why a contractor would state he "thinks" a certain brand wears better. Go with what you like unless there's some definitive reason of why not to use a product. Sounds as if you may want to interview a couple other contractors as well.
