I want to learn....

I ventured into the rose world about 5 years ago when we bought our first house. I bought whatever I could find and afford- lots of cuttings and bare root plants from Ebay, year end leftovers from Home Depot, etc. After killing my first rose bush (which, I've now been reassured that I didn't do) I backed off and didn't try anything fancier than Knockouts. We are in a new house and I really miss my old rose bushes- especially my from-Ebay-twig that grew into a huge climbing rose bush that I trained to cover a fence at the front of our old property. I've already planted 6 Knockouts in the front of my house but I am ready for more.

Before I just start buying random rose bush twigs again, I'd like to better learn the basics. Suggestions on what I can read or watch- or where I can go- to learn the basic stuff? Before I watched Paul's videos on YouTube, I wasn't even sure if I was pruning correctly! Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
